Servings: 2 | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil, vegetable oil or butter
½ lb. (250g) sliced fresh mushrooms
1 tsp (5 mL) dried herbs (Italian, basil, rosemary, tarragon or thyme)
Pinch of salt (optional)
Directions:
- Heat vegetable, olive oil or butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sauté sliced mushrooms for 3-4 minutes or until starting to brown. Add dried herbs and a pinch of salt, sauté for 1-2 minutes. Serve hot over steak, burgers or as a side dish.
Variations: Substitute fresh herbs using 1 tbsp minced fresh herbs (e.g. thyme, basil, or tarragon) and 1 minced clove garlic. Seasoning salt or salt-free seasonings may be added to taste.
Tip: Do not crowd the pan or the mushrooms steam and release all their juices.
